Projected Savings : 72.3% saving on the cost of electricity.

Project Overview

Now! Charity is a furniture charity based in Eastbourne. They have an industrial unit situated over two floors, which contained a mixture of old 6ft and 8ft T8 tubes and several 600 x 1200 T8 panels, all giving out very poor light and failing regularly.

Client Brief

The main requirement was to standardise the lighting across the whole area, with an emphasis on energy savings and reducing their long-term maintenance costs.

The Solution by LED-UK

We replaced all the 6ft and 8ft batons with a low-energy LED baton in 4000 kelvins, which gave out a uniformity of light across the whole showroom. In the offices and work areas, the old 600 x 1200 T8 fittings at 144w were replaced with a 600 x 600 28w low-glare panel.

In the upper showroom, the current 6ft tubes were replaced with a LED non-corrosive baton with presence detection, which turned off the lights if no motion was detected. This further increased their energy savings by about 20% in this area.

In the loading bay, 2 x 400w metal halide lamps were replaced with 2 x 100w LED hi-bays.

Savings

72.3% saving on the cost of electricity, which gave them an annual reduction of £1774 a year. The payback for this job was 3 years.

Other Benefits

All lights are supplied with a 5-year warranty and 50,000 hours working life.
